First off a big thank you to our Sponsors and to Boris for lining all this up!
Havaianas (www.havaianas.com) – The world’s coolest brand of flip-flop. Who said you had to sacrifice style in the desert? We might even inspire new footwear trends amongst the Turkana tribes! We’ve been given flip-flops and really hip canvas laced up high-top shoes.
Dakine South Africa (www.dakine.com) – Dakine makes packs, bags and accessories for surf, skate and kite. We love the camel packs and harnesses they gave us. They’ll be put to the test in some of the harshest conditions we can think of!
VonZipper South Africa (www.vonzipper.com) – A vital item on our packing list: Funky sunnies that will shelter our pretty eyes on that blinding desert sand.
Sandstorm (www.sandstormkenya.com) -- One of Kenya’s most well known company. Their distinctive, handcrafted bags and accessories made of canvas and leather are always on the top of our Xmas wish list! Sandtstorm also equips safari cars with gorgeous and sturdy seat covers – and this is just what they’ve done for our 4x4s!
Our Crew
Petra (South African) – (www.beachbushandbeauty.com) In charge of writing and filming, Petra is on a little break from her business in Diani Beach where she is a Body Therapist and Trainer. Petra is married with Alex. The boys have already been warned there will be a few workout sessions along the way!
Alex (Kenyan) – Safari Guide – (www.beach2bushkenya.com) A veteran Safari Guide, Alex will be the on we will all look up to when we come to that mysterious fork in the road! We are all green with envy at Alex’s all souped up Land Cruiser!
Boris (Kenyan) – (www.h2o-extreme.com) Owner of H20 Extreme, the Kitesurf Center located in Diani beach. Boris has brought his land board to kite across the Chalbi.
Charlie (Kenyan) – Artist (www.turleart.com) -- Charlie has been inspired by Africa and painted Africa for the last 15 years. He has brought all his kit with him and we just can’t wait to witness his art in action on the road!
Justin (Kenyan)– (www.cheshale.com) Owner of beach boutique hotel and kitesurf center Che Shale in Malindi, Justin is bringing his favorite toy to cross the desert: his Peter Lynch 3-wheel kite buggy.
